Here I am, two weeks since I last shampooed my hair.
Yesterday, I was ready to chuck the whole idea. I was seriously tempted to use shampoo in the shower, but..I have made a commitment to keep at this for a month, so I didn't. Yesterday, my scalp was feeling a little itchy, and I just really felt like I needed a wash. I didn't actually make it into the shower until about 2pm (LOL), but *after* I washed...I don't know. Something went wrong. My hair felt heavy and greasy and worse than before I showered! I didn't have much time to investigate, because I had to get to work, so I just blow-dried it and went on in. As the day went on, however, my hair started to look a little better, and actually, last night I went to play Bunko with some friends, and received compliments on how good my hair looked! People especially commented on how healthy and shiny it was. I actually was able to share with them what I've been doing, and they seemed intrigued instead of repulsed, so it must have been looking ok! :)
This morning, my hair feels nice and soft again, with tons of body and shine. In retrospect, I think maybe I used too much apple cider vinegar in my rinse yesterday. I guess it is possible to have too much of a good thing. I will say, however, that when I got out of the shower, my hair was completely tangle free. This is a major improvement for me, as it's usually a knotted mess. But yesterday, I was able to comb through my wet hair with Anthony's fine-tooth man-comb, with only minimal hair loss.
So, I'm still on the wagon. My month-long experiment will end at Christmas, and by then I will either be a true believer, or I'll be headed back to the Shampoo aisle. I'll keep you posted.
as a guy, this makes no sense to me... apple cider and vinegar are food words, not hair words... but if it's working for you, go for it.
